2024 Ford F-150’s Dazzling Makeover CAUGHT on Camera

A new version of the 2024 Ford F-150 is in the process of being developed. We’ve seen a lot of images of spy shots showing the upcoming modifications to the truck that is the top-selling, and now we know when it will be official. Ford Chief Executive Jim Farley confirmed the 2024 F-150 would be unveiled during the 2023 North American International Auto Show in Detroit beginning in September.

The announcement came from Ford in Thursday’s second-quarter earnings conference call. Farley did not offer any specifics on what was to come. However, he did say that the changes are more than skin profound.

We plan to introduce A new version of the 2024 Ford F-150

An all-new F-150 and F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid at the Detroit show in September,” the automaker stated in the conference call.

It’s a great selection of words for pickup trucks that are young. The current generation F-150 was introduced in 2020 as a 2021 model year vehicle and features a more conservative exterior design but a modernized interior and the brand’s latest hybrid version. So, a total redesign for 2024 appears unlikely, particularly considering Farley also informed people on the phone that F-150 sales exceeded the market for pickup trucks overall by almost three times.

Then there are the F-150 spy images, which show new trucks in various trim levels cruising through Detroit without camouflage. These photos show minor changes to the front of the car with new lower fascias, headlights, and grille designs based on the trim level.

In this instance, all-new might be a form of marketing language for what’s sure to be a mid-cycle update. But it’s essential to be aware that our spies on the streets have only taken exterior photos to date. This means there’s a chance for improvements to the truck’s interior that, according to some, has become a bit outdated within the past few years since its first appearance. Chevrolet has revamped its Silverado’s greenhouse, and we’ve heard that a new Ram is is in the works. At a minimum, a larger touchscreen for the F-150 could be in the cards. This is likely to require, at the very least, some design tweaks to the dashboard.

Farley also mentions the possibility of a new hybrid. This could mean changes to the powertrain across the F-150 range or, at minimum, adjustments to the existing hybrid’s performance. Similar to the interior, these are details we have yet to discover.

At least we know what time the questions will be addressed. 2023 is the year that the North American International Auto Show will open to the public on 13 September. The official opening will likely occur shortly before the opening date.
